WHICH VIRGIN ARE YOU

"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom... " (Matthew 25:1-13).

 

The scripture above depicts what heaven is like and I’m sure you've read it before and if you've not read it, please try and study it and be blessed.

While having my quiet time this morning, this scripture was dropped in my spirit and I will be sharing with you the story of these virgins as regards sexual purity.
Let me quickly remind you that from that scripture above Jesus Himself talked about ten virgins, some of them were wise while some were foolish.

 THE WISE VIRGINS: These are young men/ladies who have not committed Sexual sin( they are sexually pure). So what then is sexual sin???

Sexual sin is any activities whether in HEART or ACT that arouses you sexually. Note that I made
mention of HEART and ACT. And in a lay man's definition, a Virgin is someone who has not had a physical sexual intercourse with a man/lady (ACT).
Having established these two definitions, I will continue with the wise virgins.

What made those virgin wise was that they had extra oil with them. The extra oil they had was that they knew what the bridegroom want which is Sexual Purity. They knew it's not enough to be a virgin, so they ensure they are sexually pure. They always flee from any activities that will contaminate their purity. Remember I said sexual sin is any activities whether in heart or act that arouses you sexually. These wise virgins made their stand not to accommodate anything in their heart that will arouse them. They are mindful of the movies they watch on Africa Magic, the songs they listen to and the materials they read online or magazine. They are very cautious of how they hug the opposite sex (some don't even hug) because they knew if care is not taken they may start thinking on how they feel which can arouse their sex drive and contaminate their heart.

Though these virgins are in a godly relationship yet their priority is not just "No sex until their wedding night" but Sexual purity till Jesus comes. So they don't even think of kissing, hugging or try to play around as some will say.

These virgins were so wise that even if they get involved in any sexual sin, they don't say "after all we've not done the main thing" rather they will run to God in prayers and ask for mercy and even confess to their pastors/mentors for help and decide not to fall into such again.

 

THE FOOLISH VIRGINS: These are young men/ladies who have not had sexual intercourse with any man/lady but they've committed other form of sexual sin you can think of. What made them foolish was that they lack the extra oil.

All they are interested in is "No Sex" but they can kiss, romance, hug as they like and even play around. Their best movie is pornography, they love watching Ghanaian films because of the sexual scenes, and you see them so excited about any facebook post that has to do with sexual intercourse. They know most porn sites and even have some on their phones.
Sexual Purity is never their priority; you will see them asking question like 'am I still a virgin if so so so and so happen (you know what I mean).
Though these virgins are in a "godly" relationship yet they still commit all sort of sexual immorality. Many of them don't even know what it means to be sexually pure. Even though they've not committed the act but they've committed several others in their heart. They lust after men/ladies. They forgot to know that with time all they do in their heart will still be done in act if caution is not taken.

The only difference between these foolish virgins and the wise virgins is that they enjoy their sexual sin and never see it as a big deal. They keep practising it and never felt remorseful about it. They don’t even think of asking God for mercy or confessing to their pastors.

 I will conclude by saying this write up is not meant to condemn anyone but to open your eyes to the truth about sexual purity. Let your priority be sexual purity.

If you are still a virgin, thank God for your life and make sure you are a wise virgin whose priority is sexual purity. Don't allow pressure from friends and environment make you lose it. It is dignity. It is the best gift you can give to your wife/husband when you are married.

And if you are no longer a virgin due to any reason known to you, thank God for your life too. It’s never the end of the world. Don't allow your past make you feel you are worthless. You can't change what has happened but you can determine what will happen now and later. Infact if you believe Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour He can make you a virgin again (I've heard of a testimony like that).

Live your life for Christ and continue to live a life of holiness.
